New firmware is coming

Its nearly there. I'm doing the final testing for version 2.10 firmware. This will fix the throb and thrust issue, and also pave the way for a number of other future upgrades. If you are finding throb and thrust an issue then 2.10 is for you

Erotica day I wasn't bad, interesting atmosphere, and you now need a compass to navigate across the 6.5m isles!!!. The stage was not bad, more tasteful that it has been in precious times, and certainly entertaining rather than just 'tits and arse'.

Last of the Series 2

It's been around since 2007 but we and technology never stay still so the Series 2 has finally been discontinued in favour of the fantastic 2B.

Uplink updated

We have now released the latest version of the uplink system (v1.3). It's now much more reliable - if there is a communications glitch during the download it automatically attempts to resend the data. In addition there is an overide mode in case things get really screwed up, and a more informative user interface.

As uplink is paid for software, it's not free, so to get the update all you need to do is send your uplink cd back to us, together with your address and we will send you the new version free of charge.

Actually got a days decent coding done. Now have two PCs talking to each over via TCP, this gives us the first steps in getting the 2b linked over the internet. It still needs a lot of work but we are getting there.

The next iteration of the firmware v2.08 should be shipping in the next week or so, this gives the ability to link to Commander, and is needed for Commander to work.

We are now shipping 2Bs with blue/White LCD displays. They look prettier and are easier to read with the backlight on.

After a busy day at the local carnival (with the local Scuba diving club) I managed to hack some code together for commander...and it works!!!

I'm going to release a beta version soon, so watch this space. Commander will be free for anyone who already has a 2b link. You will also need to upgrade to the beta version of the firmware, which will be something like version 2.08.1 (the second '.' indicates a beta version.)

If anyone is at the birmingham bizarre bizzar tomorrow then I will hopefully have a demo set up.

its the Easter break here in the UK, and we are not all having a holiday. i'm putting the last touches to the first of the trio of programs for the 2B Link. Yes the 2B link is about to be released.
The first issue (V2.07) will allow you to contact your 2B to a PC (and later a Mac) and then update the software from the web. This will allow you to take advantage of all the new goodies we are developing PC side. and once you purchase the link, everything else is free. we are even going to release details of the control protocol so you can write your own functions!!!!

Strange policies

I don't normally comment on what our competitors are up to, but I was a bit taken aback by the policy of one (un-named) American manufacturer. it appears that once their one year warranty is up, thats it when it comes to repairs. They are no longer offering an out of warranty repair service.

A number of customers on a well known forum have commented that the company is now directing them to find local companies to perform out of warranty repairs something that would be quite difficult without the knowledge and experience of e design. Even as a private purchaser I find the policy strange.

Still I can assure all our customers, both past and present that we will never change our policies and continue to support both you and our equipment for as long as you own it. It's why we are the only E-Stim company in the world to offer a lifetime guarantee on all of our control units and our premium electrodes.

It's interesting how history turns itself around. I saw a piece on the tv today by Sir Clive Sinclair about how back in the 80s the dawn of home computing 10000s of people were programming their computers where now there are so many levels between the user and the hardware that virtually no-one is able to program hardware directly. So we are holdjng the past alive in our own way as we are still working directly with the hardware with our E-Stim Remote and Series 2, albet with a little bit more power than most of the early home computers. However I have no plans (yet!) to get the Series 2 to play Frogger!!

We are currently moving our payment systems over to SagePay, as after 5 years of user Worldpay have decided that they no longer want anything to do with adult goods. Our UK site is now using the new system, our US Site is currently offering PayPal, and our EU Site is currently only available with sterling payments (GBP)...All will be back to normal in the next few weeks.

Xpo cancelled

Sadly it has been announced that there will be no Xpo at the Barbican this year. The Xpo is something a little special for us as this was the first major event we attended as a company. It survived the split from Skin Two and grew from strength to strength. Sadly I feel that its cancellation is not just been from the recession, but some people just don't want to take a risk and always want something for nothing. If you want a quality event to attend, both from a traders and visitors point of view, then you need to support the event early on, and not try to push every second for that last minute deal.... You might get the cheapest stand at the last minute, but you will eventually kill the proverbian golden goose. Events cannot be run on last minute 'deals' being made.

We wish good luck to Cathy & Paul and all the crew at Xpo, and look forward to joining them again in 2010!!!

The planning has started for what is probably the biggest event of the year.... Venus Berlin. Held in the middle of October Venus is by many accounts one of the largest adult events in the world. More detail to follow.

June has been a busy month for us with the german fetish ball and only 3 weeks to go to ETO - The UK's only adult trade show. If you are coming along then you will find us on stand D20.

We have been busy in the workshop with an expansion into a new unit that we are conerting into our showroom. I have finally made it back into the office after a marathon weekend. The german fetish ball turned out to be a cracking event, well organized and well attended. The 1500 mile round trip was hard but the visitors to our stand made I'd all worth it. Many thanks to everyone, especially Mick who did the driving,Jenn who kept us all fed, the boys from latex101 who kept us all sane, and my wife who missed me like crazy. We will be back!!!!

The events are the idea time to come along and see are entire range, as well as being able to ask any questions.

Why is it when people try to sell you things they never do their homework. Today we had a company call us wanting to design our products for us.....without knowing what we even made for all they knew we could have been building drilling platforms for mice, or dog food dispensers....when we explained that we had an in house design team all of who had experience and knowedge of our products they seemed to be a bit taken aback...the moral of this story? Do you homework!!

Well two days (3 if you include the setup) at any exhibition can be busy, but our time at the Expo (held at the Barbican in London) was certainly worth it. Ever since the doors opened we were run off our feet with visitors trying (any buying!) our E-Stim kit.
We had a few new toys with us - some of which are not even on the website yet, and they look like they are going to be very popular.

The first of the batch are our newly updated electro pinwheels. Both our single and double pinwheels are now supplied with industry standard heavy duty 4mm sockets, no more fiddling with twist terminals!!

Brighton Pride

What do you get when you add 120,000 people, a big field, lots of music, carnival floats and a few stands? The answer is Brighton Pride. It was our second year at Brighton, and we took the full team down together with a larger stand and even more of our electrical goodies. Much fun was had by all, even though the picture seems to show I was 1/2 asleep!!! Even the weather held on long enough for everyone to have fun :-)

E-Stim Zaps Big Brother

Lots has happened in the E-Stim World. A couple of weeks ago we were approached by the production team for Big Brother 9,here in the UK and the end result is 2 hours of E-Stim mayhem with 14 BB contestants jumping around to the tune of screams and shouts as they proceeded to fail the task. Each contestant was wired up with an E-Stim Remote.

Weddings and TriPhase

Been quite busy in the past couple of weeks. I'm getting married to my Darling Caz on 24th May 2008 so everything is all over the place at the moment trying to organise everything. On the E-Stim side of things we have been working on a 'Tri-phase' adaptor for the Series 2. Triphase takes the two outputs of a Series 2 and combines them into 3 contact points. The signals from the Series 2 interact with each other in some quite suprising ways... one of the test team described it all as 'E-Stim gone 3D' (Still trying to work than into a slogan!!!). There seems to be so much rubbish out there on the safety of E-Stim in general and even more about how it all works, we are begining to publish some of our own material to re-dress the balance. The start???

I am E-Stim Si. It's not actually my real name, it just something that stuck over time. I run a company called E-Stim Systems Ltd. Back in the dark and distant past (circa 2004), My partner (soon to be my wife!! in May 2008) and I were getting interested in electro-play, namely violet wands and electrosex equipment in general. Unfortunately like a lot of things that adults buy, everything on the market was either too expensive, or a complete ripoff.
Having had a background in electronics design, I cobbled together a circuit, and the pre-pre-pre-pre-prototype of the Series 1was born. Friends saw it and wanted one, and then friend of theirs and very soon I was making more and more of them. 4 years later we now make them on a commercial basis, selling them around the world, as well as 3 other control unit and a whole pile of electrodes and other accessories. In 2006 we moved from our Slough garage/outside workshop, to workshops in Watford (UK), and at the end of 2007, we moved into our current location.

We don't just sell boxes. I'm not interested in how many 1000's of units I can ship out the door,(although I do need to make money to pay the bills), I get the biggest buzz from the person who comes back to us weeks later after they made a purchase, telling us how wonderful they found it. More and more of our contacts are from people who have personal experience of our equipment it's one of the reasons I feel we have been as successful as we have been.

Whats the point of this blog? Well I spend so much time working on production/development/websites/events and everything else to do with running a company I sometimes feel that I am missing out on the personal element, SO this blog is me, my thoughts and feelings. There might be weeks with nothing, and then a pile of posts...who knows. There's also going to be some personal bits and pieces as well.... at the end of the day it my blog!!!!
