France's New €2 Import Charge — What It Means for Your E-Stim Systems Order
Heads up for our French customers — there's a new import fee on the way, but whether it affects you depends on how you choose to ship.
France is introducing a €2 handling charge on small packages imported directly from outside the European Union. Here's everything you need to know, and how to make sure it doesn't catch you off guard.
What Is the French €2 Import Charge?
From March 1st 2026, France is applying a €2 fee to low-value small packages shipped directly from non-EU countries into France. It's aimed at the surge of individually shipped parcels arriving from international retailers, and covers the customs processing costs involved. The fee applies to orders under €150 in value above that threshold, standard import duty rules already apply.
How You Ship Makes All the Difference
When you place an order with E-Stim Systems, you'll have a choice of shipping options - and that choice determines whether the new charge applies to you.
Teleship - No €2 Charge
If you select Teleship as your shipping method, at the moment you're completely in the clear. Teleship routes your order through Belgium, where full customs clearance takes place before your parcel continues its journey to France. Because it enters the EU in Belgium - not France - it arrives as a standard intra-EU delivery and the French import fee simply doesn't apply.
DHL - €2 Charge May Apply
If you choose DHL, your parcel is shipped directly from the UK into France, which means it falls under the new rules. If your order is under €150, you may see the €2 charge applied when you checkout. Orders over €150 are not affected by this particular fee.
Our Recommendation
For most orders, Teleship is the simplest way to avoid the charge entirely
DHL remains a great option if speed is your priority or your order is over €150, where the fee won't apply anyway.
For Both Teleship and DHL we offer DDP shipping (Delivery Duties Paid) so any charges are show on checkout - no shocks when it arrives on your doorstep.

We want your shopping experience to be as straightforward as possible. If you're unsure which shipping option is right for you, or have any questions about your order, just hit the online chat - we are all human!!, or drop us an email.
