Why Are You Wasting This as a Sizing Tool?
Sounds come in a range of sizes, and that's is a problem.
Our standard UltraSounds run 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm. Four diameters, and no honest way for someone new to sounding to know which one they want before they've bought one. You have to guess. Most people do, and a fair few guess wrong, ending up with something too thin to feel much or too thick to make a comfortable start.
So we thought we'd fix it in the workshop. One piece of stainless, all four diameters on the same shaft, thinnest at the tip and stepping up as it goes. Slide it in, notice where you stop, buy that size. That's a gauge, not a toy, and a sizing gauge was all we thought we'd built.
A confession
Now, a confession. I don't do sounding. Twenty two years of making this kit and the one thing that still puts the willies up me willy, is a length of steel going anywhere near my willy. Which is exactly why we have a test team, and why the gauge went out to someone who does.
The report came back and it wasn't what we were expecting. No notes on the diameters, nothing on whether the measuring actually worked. Just a question.
"Why are you wasting this as a sizing tool?"
We sat with that for a bit. They were right. We'd spent the design effort making something that climbs through four thicknesses in a single insertion, then filed it under measuring equipment, which is a bit like machining a lovely thing and using it as a doorstop. The stepping was the interesting part all along. We'd just been treating it as a byproduct.
So we put a socket in the base.
A 4mm banana socket, machined into the end of what had been an inert length of stainless, and the gauge became an electrode. Current goes in and all four diameters start doing something. As far as we know nobody had built a stepped sound that does that, which makes these the first electrified stepped sounds anyone has made. We got there by accident, via a ruler.
Once it was a product rather than a measuring stick, one size stopped being enough. A gauge only ever needs to exist in one form. An electrode that people are going to play with needs to suit the person playing with it, so we extended the set.
What ended up on the shelf
Every Step Sound climbs the same four diameters. What changes between the four models is how long each step is, which sets both how deep the sound reaches and how much distance sits between one thickness and the next.

Short gives the quickest progression and keeps things near the head. Extra Long spreads that same climb over twice the distance and takes you furthest. All four come off the same stainless as the rest of the range, machined and hand polished in the same Watford workshops.
We didn't plan the next bit either, and there's no sense pretending otherwise. The original idea hasn't gone anywhere. Your fit is still built into the sound, so you don't have to commit to a diameter on day one. Stop where it feels right this week, go further another time, and you don't need to buy anything else to do it.
Connecting one up
That socket is the same 4mm fitting as the rest of the UltraSound family, so it works with every box we make. The 2B, ElectroHelix, ElectroPebble, ABox and the E-Stim Remote.
It's a single connection, so it needs a second point of contact to complete the circuit. Pair it with a sticky pad, a loop or an ElectroRing.
Before you get carried away
Urethral play asks more of you on cleanliness than anything else we make. Clean the sound with an alcohol wipe immediately before use, and use a sterile lubricant throughout. Not the gel you use for everything else. Sterile.

Adult Supervision Required: Our ANME Stand Arrived in Two Bags
The latest episode of our podcast I Make Sex Toys is out, and it's the one where the plan fell apart before we'd even landed.
We shipped two crates and a pod to Los Angeles a week ahead of the ANME show in Burbank. They got as far as LAX and stopped. Three sets of power of attorney. A form rejected because "managing director" apparently isn't a real job title. A request for a social security number from a British company. An FDA requirement that didn't apply to us. By Thursday it was obvious the crates weren't coming, so we went to plan B.
Plan B was two black hand luggage bags and an iPad.
That was the stand. Everything else, 22 years of workshop footage, ran as a slideshow on the iPad. And it worked. We spent two and a half days in the main ballroom talking to buyers, and the thing they kept coming back to wasn't the packaging or the display. It was that we make the stuff ourselves, in our own UK workshop, rather than pulling it off a container.
We recorded this one in a Burbank hotel room after the stand was packed up, with Ian aka StuntCock . Caz and Rachel had been sent to the pool. Nobody was left to keep either of us check, hence the title.

The Mr S Electrodes Go Worldwide
Back in 2017, Mr S Leathers came to us with a question. Could we build an e-stim version of a couple of their designs?
We didn't have to think about it. We jumped.
Mr S had spent years making gear people actually wanted to get their hands on. Taking two of their best-loved pieces and turning them into working electrodes was exactly our kind of problem. We took their originals, applied a bit of British know-how, added our own twist, and the result was a pair we're still proud of: the E-Bead 2.0 and the E-WMCBP 2.0.
The E-Bead 2.0. Two beads of aircraft-grade aluminium in our satin finish, separated by a rigid insulator, on a captive 1.5m cable that plugs straight into your box. Wear it fully inserted for deep sensation, or half-in so one bead sits outside and gives you that natural thrusting twitch. Small or Large.
The E-WMCBP 2.0. The Electrified World's Most Comfortable Butt Plug, and yes, that's the actual name. A bi-polar e-stim insertable machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminium, with a angled head for easy insertion and a slim neck that holds it snug. Where Mr S's originals were silicone and conductive rubber, ours is solid metal, so you get better conductivity and a plug that lasts. It strips down for cleaning too. Medium or Large.
Here's the news. For a long time, both of these have only been available to a limited market, but as of today, that's changed. Both collaboration designs are now available worldwide.

No ElectroGel to Italy
Shipping ElectroGel to Italy
Quick heads-up for our Italian customers.
Our E-Stim Systems Electro Gel is produced in the EU, where it's classified as a cosmetic. Unfortunately Italian customs have now changed the way they handle cosmetic imports, and they now charge £44 plus Italian VAT on every order to process the documentation. That charge lands on each shipment, so it makes sending gel into Italy unworkable for us right now. We've had to pause Electro Gel orders to Italy for the time being.
Nothing changes anywhere else. If you're ordering from outside Italy (or the US where a separate issue exists), then your gel ships as normal.
We're working on a fix. Until we've got one sorted, a simple water-based lube should do the job with your e-stim kit if you're in Italy and caught short.
We'll update this post the moment anything changes. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for bearing with us.

The new EU €3 customs charge from 1 July 2026
If you're in the EU and you order from us, there's a small customs change worth knowing about. It's live from 1 July 2026.
The EU now applies a temporary €3 customs charge on low-value parcels coming in from outside the EU. It affects orders with a goods value up to €150.
The rule was built to deal with the river of cheap parcels flooding in from the likes of Temu and Shein, but unfortunately the net doesn't tell the difference between a mass-market dropshipper from China and a small British workshop. And since we're now classed as outside the EU, it catches us too. Some of us are still missing you our EU friends.
So no, it isn't a fee we've invented. We ship to you from Watford, and unfortunately the UK sits outside the EU, and that's why it lands on your order.
The charge is applied per item by its customs category, not per parcel. Most orders won't notice. A mixed order spanning different product types could carry more than one €3 charge.
What isn't changing
Orders over €150 aren't caught by this rule. It's not VAT, which works exactly as before. And it's not a hidden E-Stim Systems surcharge. We've added nothing.
What you'll see
For eligible EU orders, we sort the customs side for you through our shipping setup, so any charge is shown at checkout rather than sprung on you at the door. You see the full cost up front, with nothing extra to settle when the parcel arrives.
No nasty surprises once your order's on its way. That's the part we care about.

Two 2026 StorErotica Awards Nominations for E-Stim Systems
We've got some news, and it's the good kind.
E-Stim Systems has been nominated in two categories at the 2026 StorErotica Awards. The Slider is shortlisted for New Product of the Year, and we're on the ballot for Foreign Manufacturer of the Year. Both nominations come from the people who actually sell and stock pleasure products for a living, which is exactly the kind of nod that means something to us.
If you've not come across them, the StorErotica Awards have run for nineteen years now. They celebrate the products, the people and the companies shaping pleasure retail, and the ceremony takes place on 14 July in Burbank, California, during the ANME show. We'll be there. We have made the trip to ANME three years running, so it's familiar ground.
The Slider nomination is the one that makes us grin. It's the world's first bipolar insertable electrode with an adjustable, lockable, fully disassemblable sliding neck. One design, created in our Watford workshops, that you can set to the length that suits you, lock in place, then strip right down to clean. We designed it because we wanted it ourselves. Turns out we weren't the only ones.
Made in the UK, and Proud of it
The Foreign Manufacturer nomination is a quieter sort of proud. "Foreign" because the awards are American and we're not. We've been designing and machining electrostimulation kit in Britain for twenty-two years, in our own workshops, with our own hands. Being recognised for that, on the other side of the Atlantic, by a room full of retailers? That'll do nicely.
We won't pretend we're not chuffed. A nomination isn't a win, and the field in both categories is strong and stuffed with the mahjor players in the industry, but being shortlisted not once but twice, voted on by the trade, is a good place to be standing.

There's a reason. And it turns out it's the same reason Kay can sell them.
The latest episode of our podcast, I Make Sex Toys, is out now, and this one isn't about a box at all. It's about the person who has spent the best part of twenty years getting our boxes onto shelves around the world. Meet Kay, our Sales Director.
Kay didn't come to us the usual way. She arrived as a customer back in 2006, bought a box, and never really left. There's a bit of Victor Kiam about it. She liked the kit so much she ended up running our sales. Over the years since, she built our wholesale operation from scratch, one stockist at a time. Not a faceless distributor network. Actual relationships with actual shops who understand what we make and why.
So, the knobs. People ask us all the time why we fit physical dials instead of pushing everyone towards an app. The answer's simple. A control you can reach for in the dark beats fumbling for your phone mid-play. It's tactile, it's reliable, and it doesn't stop working because a software update went sideways. Kay has spent years explaining exactly that to retailers who'd never heard of e-stim, and watching them get it.

Sliding into the Slider
The Slider range actually started life as an idea a few years ago. Someone asked the question we'd been turning over in the workshop for a while - Why are insertable electrodes always one fixed length? You buy a Flange, you get the Flange's neck. You buy a Moaner, you get the Moaner's neck. If you wanted a different gap between the two contact points, you bought a different electrode. That's it.
It's not how anything else works. You wouldn't buy a separate camera body for every focal length. (I might, but then I am mad and into cameras.) The honest answer is that fixing the neck is the only sensible way to make a range work. We could offer the Flange in five neck lengths, the Moaner in five neck lengths, the Bobble in five neck lengths - but here's the catch. Whatever sizes we picked, we'd have guaranteed the size *you* want isn't one of them. And the logistics of keeping every size of every electrode in stock would be a nightmare. So everyone settles for "close enough," and that's how insertables have always been.
We wanted to do something different with the Slider. One electrode, one head you've already chosen, and a neck that moves to wherever you want it.
But what is it?
Two sizes. The Small Slider carries the one-inch head our Flange customers will recognise straight away. The Large Slider steps up to an inch and a half, picking up where the Moaner left off. The same heads people have loved for years. But with new trick up the sleeve.
Is it Magic?
The trick is the neck. It slides through the base of the electrode and locks at any length you want with a small hex key on the side. Three neck lengths cover the full range - Long at 75mm, Standard at 55mm, Short at 35mm - and all of them slide from a 3mm minimum upwards. The Standard ships fitted. The Long and Short are extras you can swap in when your play asks for it.
Like virtually all of our insertables, you can take the Slider apart for cleaning. Head, neck, base washer, body, locking screw - five pieces, every component, every time.
How it feels different
If you're coming from a Flange or a Moaner, the head shape will be familiar. The Slider lands in your hand the same way. What changes is what happens after that.
A fixed-neck electrode has one feel. The contact points sit where they sit, and the sensation that produces is the sensation you get. The Slider gives you a dial on that. Bring the head and base closer together and the current path through the body shortens — the sensation tightens up, sharpens, gets more concentrated. Open it up and the same intensity setting feels broader, more spread, a longer sweep through the tissue. Same Slider, same powerbox, same gel. Different play.
It's texture, not just intensity. The dial on the powerbox controls how strong; the neck position controls *what kind of strong*. Two parameters, not one. That's the Slider's job.
How to set it
Set the neck length with the Slider in your hand, before you go anywhere else. Loosen the small lock screw with the supplied key. Slide the neck where you want it. Tighten the screw back, again a quarter-turn. The locking screw has a nylon pad on the end that grips the neck without scoring it, so firm contact is what locks it, not force. Test it with hand pressure before you start. That's the routine.
You can adjust mid-session if you want to. Easier to slide the whole electrode, in our experience, but it's there if you want it.
Choosing the right neck
The Standard ships fitted because it does most of what most people want. 55mm of slide covers a useful range out of the box.
The Long is for when you want full extension — more depth, more scope, more of a stretch in how the electrode sits. If you've found yourself wishing the Standard went further, the Long is the answer. If this sticks out too much at the back, then consider the Short Neck.
A line on compatibility
Two 4mm banana sockets in the base. Standard E-Stim Systems cables plug straight in, both connections needed for the bipolar circuit. Works with any of our boxes - the 2B, the ElectroHelix, the ElectroPebble, the ABox, the Remote - and most third-party powerboxes too, with the right cable or adaptor.

You design an electrode to fit nicely in the body. It also fits nicely in the hand. You spend hours getting the proportions right, the surface finish dialled in, the neck mechanism moving the way you want it to. You make it small enough to be practical and large enough to be interesting. You think about how it sits in the palm, how it connects, how it cleans. You don't, at any point, think about whether a 500% sized version of it will fit in a suitcase.We're heading to EroSpain this weekend. Hall 1, Stand 349, 17 to 19 May. Fira de Barcelona. Wayne, Caz and Kay on the stand for three days of trade-floor conversations, demos and the European retail launch of the Slider.
The new Slider, in its actual size, is one of the nicer things we've made this year. CNC-machined in our own workshops here in Watford, bipolar, adjustable, fully disassemblable (that is a word?). The sort of electrode that quietly does its job and asks nothing of you except to enjoy it. The real one fits in your hand.
The version going to Spain does not fit in our hands. Or our suitcases. Or anybody's idea of "reasonable hand luggage." We could have a problem. At least we are not travelling with Ryan Air.
We decided to make an oversized display piece for trade shows because a stand needs presence, and we like to be different. One year we brought a pick'n'mix. Nobody walks past a giant version of something. You can see it from the back of the hall, the proportions read at a distance, you know exactly what it is. It's good showmanship. It's also genuinely fun to build.
The downside is you then have to get it to Barcelona.
So we're packing. Caz has had opinions about how reasonable any of this is, especially as we had to borrow one of her Disney suitcases for it. We have packed and repacked. We considered shipping options and rejected them on the grounds that we'd rather wrestle a giant electrode through Heathrow than trust it to an airline freight handler. Been there, done that.

Once a year, everything stops.
Well, not everything. The Haas machines are still there. The 3D print farm is still humming. But the making pauses for a day while we do something far less glamorous. We count it all.
Every electrode. Every power unit. Every component we've machined here in our Watford workshop. Every. Single. Thing.
Stocktake day has been part of the calendar at E-Stim Systems since 2004. Twenty-two years of making things means twenty-two years of counting things. That's just how it works when you actually manufacture what you sell.
The coffee went on early. The cake, generously provided and gratefully received, lasted until mid-morning. It is gone now. We are mourning it appropriately.

Here's the thing about stocktake day though. As tedious as it sounds, there's something quietly satisfying about it. You look at what you've made, what's ready to go out the door, what needs machining next. It's a snapshot of the business in a way that a spreadsheet never quite captures.
We'll be back to making things tomorrow. Today, we count.

The I Make Sex Toys Podcast Is Back
It's been a while. Over a year, if we're being honest - and if you've been following E-Stim Systems for any length of time, you'll know that we'd rather be straight with you than pretend the gap didn't happen.
Running a business got in the way of talking about running a business. Which is, genuinely, the most on-brand thing we've ever done.
But we're back. Season 2 of I Make Sex Toys is here, and we're kicking it off with something worth coming back for.
What's Been Happening
While the podcast went quiet, the business didn't. The last year has been one of the most interesting - and honestly one of the most challenging - periods in E-Stim Systems' history.
We took a long hard look at where we were heading, and made a deliberate decision to shift back closer to our roots. Less chasing scale, more focus on making brilliant things and putting them in front of people who'll actually love them.
You might have noticed we jumped into 3D printing in a serious way - we built a print farm from scratch, learned a huge amount in the process, and started bringing new ideas to life faster than we ever could before. Some of those ideas landed really well. The RingRacks sold out of their entire first run in a single day.
Oh, and we turned 21 in September. Twenty-one years of making electric sex toys. In this industry, that's genuinely an achievement.
Season 2 Starts With a Big One
The reason the podcast is back - and the reason the timing felt right - is that we are heading back to the United States.
Not for the first time, it's worth saying. We've done the ANME shows in Burbank twice. But this is a different scale entirely.
Altitude Intimates. Las Vegas.
Possibly the largest adult trade show in the US. We'll be on the show floor, talking to retailers, meeting the community, and showing people what E-Stim kit can actually do. Face to face. Which, if you know our origin story - small fetish fairs, a table, a lot of explaining to do - feels very much like coming full circle.
Joining us in Vegas are Ian and Rachel from Joanne's E-Stim Emporium, long-time members of the E-Stim community who know our products inside out. And yes, Caz is coming too. She'd never have forgiven me otherwise.
