2015 - A quick review of the Year

It’s been a busy year for us with a number of major changes behind the scenes, new products and an award in the middle of it all.

The Start of the Year

January to April saw a lot of planning, a lot of work and a lot of running around to get everything ready of the rest of the year….

May

May saw a collection of images taken by the delightful rubber clad Anna Rose - having always been a fan of her website it was fantastic to see what she though of some of our toys - and the results turned out to be stunning.

June

After a long build up, the ETO show in June saw us at the NEC being presented with the ETO award for ‘Best Fetish Distributor 2015’, a stunning award that we were astonished to win, as we were up against such industry giants as Mister B and Duseudo, so astonished that Wayne’s speech was about 4 words long.

July

We managed to recover from our award shock in time for us to launch over a complete new range of UltraSounds, which have gone down very well (ED:: That is good as that us what they were designed to!!!), as well as stocking our first Nice’N’Naughty Store.

E-Stim and Stores

We have always been selective about what stores our products appear in, we have never believed in the stack it high sell 'em cheap idea, we want a customer to have the same quality of shopping experience that we try to offer directly, and to do this in a store we need to ensure that they have the quality of staff, and a similar level of commitment to customer service - this means we offer staff training and regular support to every store that stocks our products, so if you are purchasing from one of our stockists you can be assured that you are buying the product that is right for you.
Since our first Nice’N’Naughty store we have expanded to nearly the entire Nice’N’Naughty chain - they certainly seem to like us and we them - and you can now find your nearest stockist of E-Stim goodies on our UK stockist map.

August

August saw us travel up to support a new event - Sexhibition, and it certainly was - lots of people visiting, lost of friends both old and new, and a great time was had by all. We also chose Sexhibition to launch our New ‘Red Collection’ - a collection of 3 E-Stim electrodes that have turned out to be wildly popular, both with our staff and customers.

September

In September, as the nights started to draw in, we headed to the bright lights of the city of London with a visit to our good friends at Expectations, taking part in a Sex and Sensuality show with Bricklayer1001 and a great night in one of the best fetish stores in the UK. (Warning video link is #NSFW)

October

October took us into Europe for the annual trade show EroFame, and yet again we found ourselves overwhelmed with the great response from our visitors. When you are confronted by stand after stand of Chinese companies selling copies of the same vibrator (this year it seems that florescent pink was the ‘in’ colour), it nice to get comments from visitors and even other exhibitors complementing us on being a UK manufacturer offering something different. It was also the first time anyone saw our new E-Stim Gel, something we have been working on for over a year.

November

November saw us back in London for a return to an old friend Olympia, but in a new guise - this time with a new event ‘Sexpo’. It was a long 3 days, but worth it - with lots of visitors and lots to see and do and hopefully if it runs again, we will be back next year. We also picked early November to install our new Customer Support Forum, and mobile friendly UK store, and which was then hammered during our busiest Black Friday ever, but it all survived, and with our new Predict shipping service, orders got to where they were going to on time.

December

December saw things slowing down a little, moving into the Christmas period, but for us this takes us back into the planning phases, with new ideas already floating around the office as well as prototypes being tested - so it looks like, even this early, 2016 is going to be a bumber year!!!

2B Firmware update

The latest version of the Beta firmware is available for the E-Stim Systems 2B (2B.011). With improved display, improved controls and updates to the Stereo and Microphone modes, the Beta Firmware is available via our forum.

Christmas Shipping times

Christmas is coming, (have you noticed) and we have released our Christmas shipping dates.

These are based on the dates our couriers and UK post office have given us so...

Dates and Times

If you want to ensure your E-Stim goodies are under the tree, then you need to place your UK orders BEFORE lunchtime on Monday December 21th 2015, and for all other orders (EU/US/and the rest of the world), the deadline is lunchtime Monday December 14th.


We will do our best to ensure the Christmas elves are awake, but unfortunately we can only do our best and have no control over the vagaries of shippers, customs etc etc, so the earlier you place your order the better.

If you need it desperately then you could always visit one of our UK stockists, or give us a call and we will see what we can do.

Closed but still here

Our main workshops are closed for most of Christmas (23rd until 4th Jan), but we will endeavour to ship any orders that come in between Christmas and New Year, (we always seem to have a couple that pop in on Christmas day!!!), and we will be checking emails from time to time.

It is that time of year when the world goes man with 'Black Friday' Deals. We could have done an ASDA and said no, but then the Boss went a bit mad after buying a complete collection of James Bond DVD's for £25 and said give everyone 25% off - so we did.

E-Stim Systems ElectroGel

Well its taken us a while, but we have finally launched our new E-Stim Systems ElectroGel. We have been looking for the right lube for quite a while, and since we couldn't find exactly what we wanted we sought out one of the top EU pharmaceutical companies to make exactly what we needed. Our new ElectroGel is the result.

Water Based

Firstly its water based. The water base aids the conductivity, and doesn't give that weird feel you get with some silicon lubes. Also its more compatible with humans, after all we are around 78% water, and when it dries out, you just add a little more. Its also easier to clean.

Its a Gel

Our ElectroGel is a gel. It is thicker than most. We have tried a number gels, some marked as designed for electroplay, and some just designed as a normal water based lube. Strangely enough one gel we tried, from another electroplay manufacturer was almost like water, you could pout it out the tube!!!

Its designed for internal use

Yes that means you can use it inside you. Pick up a tube of sex toy lube? does it say external use only? many of them do. They might be ok, but why take the risk? Our ElectroGel is designed to safe when used internally.

A small amount goes a long way

Because our ElectroGel is thicker, you only need a small amount to get everything to work, you can either dab a small amount onto an electrode before its inserted, or you can squeeze a small amount onto the tips of your fingers and gently rub it into the area you are playing with, lubricating and moistening the area. If things start to dry out then simply apply some more.

Easy to clean

As our ElectroGel is water based, all it takes is a quick wipe to clean everything up, and of course its washable. 

Latex Friendly

Our ElectroGel can also be used with latex condoms, but remember you cannot use a condom on an E-Stim Electrode - it will not work!!!

CE Mark

Our E-Stim Systems ElectroGel carries a European CE mark, so it has undergone a higher level of testing as a medical device, unlike many gels or lubes on the market that are just classed as a cosmetic.

1000 miles +

It's been a busy week with a major trip to Hannover in Germany, for the annual EroFame trade show.





It was great to catch up with all of friends and meet up with some new ones - the end result is you should see more and more stockists appearing throughout Europe stocking our products.



The exhibition was great with lots of interesting stands - but we did get a little jaded looking at this all day


We also took the opportunity to launch our new conductive gel which should be available for retail sale soon.

We are all back in the UK now starting to prepare for the next show, this time it's SEXPO at Olympia in London November 13-15th 2015.

ABox Customer Review

We do have an online system for both store reviews and product reviews, but a customer was good enough to post us a more extensive review of his ABox, and gave us permission to publish it. Here it is in it's entirety. 

Good morning,

Usual praises, delivery speed / well packed / innofensive brown box - love the packing of the unit itself and the completeness of the contents of the box.

I don't usually write back once i've bought something, things are rarely 'that' good and very rarely outstanding however, on this occasion I 'felt' it warranted it. Got the Abox from the PostOffice on Sunday and had a play and a tinker with the bits and bobs - yeah ... i've used TENS before, this will be just like that ... i mean how much more sensitive can it be with the same 9V battery?

I wish i'd bitten the bullet and bought one of these units years ago, it's a whole new level of fun, whether it's Microphone based or audio input based - just wow. I'm lucky enough to have a decent stereo in the car, it's about 1500WRMS with a 10" sealed box subwoofer and what i wasn't prepared for ( at ALL ) was the effect that has on an audio driven source, clean powerful sound really does do something doesn't it :)  Tried again on the way to work this morning in my other car, cattle grids are a hoot as are potholes  when you're in something light, cheap and french that rattles like hell. Even ordering McDonalds with the microphone wound right up was a hoot. Or just walking about knocking into stuff sets it off nicely .... even on low output levels, that sound driven output really does pack quite a kick with a suitably strong input volume / SQ .... i can only imagine what that would do when driven by nightclub levels of sound . Of course, none of this is new to you ...... new. favourite. toy for me.

Of course, everyone has different musical tastes / requirements .... but if you have something there that is capable of producing low frequency bass .... try some of these ;-)

Sexhibition - a traders view

Well Sexhibition, the Erotic Event of the Year,  is now done and dusted and quite frankly it was an amazing event. Many visitors and bloggers have written reviews from a visitors perspective, the organisers will of course only admit that any event they run was perfect, but you don't often see it from the traders point of view, hence this blog post.

We (E-Stim Systems) have been trading at retail events big and small for the past 11 years, from the likes of BBB, LAM and LFF to Erotica and major several events overseas, so we do have some experience as to what works and what doesn't, and I can say that the Sexhibition team pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and produced an outstanding event.

So it all started on Friday...

We rocked up on Friday afternoon with a packed van after a rather long drive from Watford and a small incident with a stone and a windscreen.

Once we arrived at Event City in Manchester, we sat in the car park queue for a bit and then managed to get a spot in front of the loading bay for unloading. The loading area is a bit cramped consisting of a long side access road, so trollies were a must.


Not having visited Event City in the past I was expecting something like EXCEL in London, (big and aircraft hanger like) which is a nightmare trying to create any form of atmosphere for any form of fetish event, but I was pleasantly surprised. The floors were carpet tiled in a tasteful grey/black, the stands were predominantly black and grey and there were massive blackout drapes suitably positioned.


Unloading was easy, the stand already had out slatwall fitted and power and lights were all up and running. (I won't list the number of events where we have had to wait for pow and lighting to be completed on time). Within minutes (well about 2 hours we had the stand built and stocked.

We even discovered the venue has free wireless, as well as good network coverage, which meant all the traders credit card payment machines were working.

The Friday evening was designated a trade only event, which gave us an opportunity to wander around and chat to other traders as well as see what everyone was upto.

Trading started at 10.00 and the fact their was a queue for visitors to get in was always a good thing. We knew around 3000 tickets had been pre sold, but until you have feet through the door you never know what is going to happen.

The Main Sexhibition stand - Before it all started

We soon had lots of people on our stand, and lots of people buying so we were happy. The music from the shows wasn't too loud so you could still talk, and apart from one presenter who needed to learn that she didn't need to shout into the microphone, the stage shows were well attended and interesting (although I on't got to see a couple of bits)

Lunch
Lunchtime came and went -  lots of people became hungry, and then discovered that there was next to no food stands within the venue. it wasn't a major panic and there were several within walking distance, and thanks to Paul Smith from ETO we had a Mcdonalds run, but I hear that there were quite a few disapproving looks from parents as the rubber clad Sexhibiton visitors queue up for their big Macs!!

Saturday trading finished at 5.30, we packed up the stand and whizzed out for a quick shower and dinner before returning for the evening session - AfterDark.


Afterdark
AfterDark was billed as more of a play event, and there was a play area as well as several shows running, but many visitors just saw it as an extended shopping session, which was good for us.

Outside the weather was 'interesting'

 Normally trading at a play event is not great as how many people really want to carry bags around and credit cards, but we have some interesting conversations with visitors in various states of undress who were sampling our toys that they had purchased earlier, and managed to help a number of people who needed that last minute plug!!

If lunchtime has issues with food, then the only issue people seem to have with the evening session was the bar, well not actually the bar, but the very long queues leading up to it.

Although Afterdark ran until 1am, most traders were standing down around 11pm as we did need some sleep for the next day, so off we popped.

Sunday


Sunday, after a decent breakfast at the local Premier Inn had a much curtailed trading time only 11am-3.00pm, which did leave a few people rushing around at the last minute, but most people didn't seem to mind and in terms of trading, it was a good day, with 3pm coming far too soon.

Doors closed at 3.00, but I was sitting in the loading queue in the van watching the rain, but by 3.20 the public had been cleared from the hall and stands started packing up. We were soon in position and had the stand down, and the van loaded in less than an hour - a record for us, but based on everything being planned in advance. The venue were organised enough to open up all the available fire exits and loading areas so we weren't all unloading though a single door, which certainly speeded things up.

We originally planned to stay overnight and return on Monday, but by 9pm we have had a meal and hit the road making it back to our Watford base in good time (well faster than we came up)

Summary
In general it was a great event, both from visitors - everyone we spoke to was very happy, and from a trading point of view we were very happy (we sold lots!!).

Plus points
A well organised event with lots of visitors, a good mix of traders from toys to latex, a great venue with great atmosphere and lots to see and do. A must visit event on any adults calendar. Trader parking was plentiful and free.

Bad points? (not massively bad - just need to be looked at for next time)
It was very hot - the venue did open some roof vents, but it was still very hot. The queue for the Bar was too long especially on Saturday evening and there were not a lot of food options in the venue.

Overall marks 9/10
Overall a hearty congratulations to all the team at Sexhibition for a great event, especially as its their first - it certainly lived up to the billing of the 'Erotic Event of the Year', and many many thanks to everyone who came and visited our stand - without the visitors no event can survive, and I can see Sexhibition becoming one of the major adult events of the year, we will certainly be back again.
