Christmas is coming.

Christmas is coming, with the Office Christmas tree going up. But I'm not sure if all the Christmas decorations are actually suitable?

New Review of the ElectroPebble

Fredrick a great guy over at ToyTorture and one of our regular bloggers has just published an in-depth review of our ElectroPebble. It is always nice to see what others think of our products, even more so when they clearly enjoyed testing them.

EroFame - Setup

Its time for our annual trip to Germany for EroFame 2017. Early mornings, Driving across 1/2 of Europe and then 3 days of the biggest adult trade show in Europe, but its certainly worth it.

The Stand

Boxes!!
Not enough Velcro?
Stand Setup is always fun, converting a van load of cardboard boxes into some semblance of order, and five hours later,  with quite a few rolls of industrial velcro we are getting there.

New ElectroEgg Review

E-Stim Systems Electro Eggs

ToyTorture, a well established reviewer in Europe has posted a review on our highly popular E-Stm ElectroEgg. You can find his review at https://www.toytorture.com/e-stim-systems-electroegg/ although I don't agree that a sphincter could hold 12 kgs, the braking strain of the connection cables (and 12Kgs is around 26lbs!!!), and we don't recommend you take the ElectroEgg apart for cleaning.

You can track down the ElectroEggs on our UK/EU store here, and our US/Worldwide store here.

ETO show cancelled

Yes it's true
So the news is out, the ETO show has been cancelled for 2017. They say it will be back next year, but since both price and Brexit and being blamed for its demise unless the big venues drop the prices, and Brexit fixes itself overnight, I feel it may be hard work to bring it back in a similar style for 2018.

Not surprised
We sort of knew it was on the cards, when the organiser starts dropping hints about venue changes, then promises that details will be released at the end of the week, and then that week passes, then the next, and then emails are not replied to, you start to get the hint.

Possibly not the best way
Although we all use social media, It would have been nice to hear directly, not via Facebook, and it would have been even nicer not to have lost money in advance hotel bookings, but that is life, and a risk you take in business. (But if you ever plan to book the Crown at the NEC, then be well aware of their complete disinterest in terms of customer service).

In the beginning
The ETO show allowed the smallest companies to start on the ladder and be recognised. We exhibited at the ETO show for 9 years, and it gave us some of our first wholesalers customers - this initial contact is vital for small startups, and I fear with the loss of the show the new manufacturers, based in small workshops in the UK have lost out to the whims and vagaries of the 'big boys', who think nothing of spending £20K on a stand to promote a single mass produced factory designed product.

The perfect show
ETO for us was a perfect inlet into the adult industry of the UK and beyond. The ETO show worked well for us as many people came to see us, both current customers and new prospects, which if you face it, is the point of a trade show.

Lost opportunities
For a lot of people, especially the smaller specialist companies such as ourselves it was virtually the only opportunity to get direct access to industry professionals on a face to face basis, now we will have to resort to the internet - very expensive for google etc or trade publications, again expensive and for lot of the time pointless, or come up with ways of being even more creative with our advertising and marketing spend. (watch this space!)

The little guys matter
The ETO show was more important to us than for many larger exhibitors. If you are selling your products through a major distributor with an expensive large stand at the show then you can afford to drop your products onto their stand and disappear off to the bar, then hope to be noticed amongst 3000 others products, or like us you can build you own stand, stock it with your entire product range add a pick'n'mix and staff it with your experienced staff and get some great interaction and real feedback from resellers. You might not win the stand of the event prize, but it is much more cost effective.

Distributors need to actually work
Whilst on the subject of big stands and distributors, unlike a number of adult manufacturers especially those with overseas factories (did I mention we are made in the U.K.???) I have issues with the traditional distributor model (you sell to a distributor, distributor sells to a shop, the shop sells to end user).

We find we can offer better prices and better service if we offer our products directly to the resellers, we have around 100 SKUs all of which our staff are intimately experienced with, hardly possibly with a distributor with 1000+ items in their range, many of which are purchased from China for $0.99 and sold to the customer for £25 - it is always interesting discussing markups when the distributor thinks they should make the most profit compared to the manufacturer or store owner.

Not all distributors are the same, we have a good working relationship with MrB in Europe who actively works promoting our products and we can be found in many of their high end branded stores, but such a relationship needs commitment from both parties to work.

The future
What does the future hold? For 2017 there is still EroFame in Hanover, Germany in October , a magnitude bigger show in a well run venue, with more business (and a free lunch) and less frills, but the logistics are greater for UK companies having to ship everything over to Germany, and with the advent of Brexit no-one knows what is going to happen to the European market in the next few years.

Hopefully in 2018 we will see the return of the ETO show, and if it does we will be there ( assuming of course they let us in!!)

But saying all this, if you are interested in stocking out products directly, then please drop us a line or give us a call.

It's Twins

It's here!! It took 3 days to clear the workshop to make space, 5 weeks on a boat from the US, and 4 months from ordering to delivery. But now we have a shiny new Haas ST15, sitting in the workshop next to its baby brother the ST10.

It's bigger!!
The '15 has a higher capacity compared to our original ST10, so we can now make it bigger, better and make more of them.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we make 98% of our items here in the UK, as this means we can maintain the quality of our products without compromising on their usability.

Arrival - not sure if the truck was big enough!!

At least it was well packed.

Tried not to upset the neighbours, but we did take over the Car Park - and the road outside.

Removal of the old machine, this was made in 1995 and still worked on most days.

Things are easier with a big forklift.

Not sure if it's going to go through the fire exit!! Getting the '15 into the building with only 7cm clearance in the corridor was a bit fun, with with the experts from abbey it slotted in.

The twins are finally settled in their new home. I think they are going to be called 'Ant' and 'Dec'.

Just a day of commissioning to got and we will be able to rock and roll.

Want to see it all compressed into a minute or so...

Any plans this week?

Any plans this week?

Today (Tuesday) will see us at the southern engineering show in Farnborough looking at even more new and shiny engineering toys.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we have to clear out a big chunk of our engineering workshop and dispatch area, to clear some space, while on Thursday our new toy arrives - if you can call our 3rd £60k 3 ton new CNC machine a toy!

We then have to move out a CNC mill (hope its not raining), move out the old old CNC lathe, shift the new one in with only 3cm to spare in the corridors, and then put it all back together before bringing in the electrician to wire in all up. It's a big heavy and expensive jigsaw puzzle.

Friday sees the installation engineer in with a day of resetting the old machines and installing the new machine, which normally involves lots of gentle tapping with hammers to get everything aligned to within .001mm and then we just have to wait until Monday for the commissioning engineer to arrive for the next machine.

We could do what other adult companies do and subcontract every thing to China, but where would be the fun in that?

Are we spying on you?

You may or many not be aware that Standard Innovation, the makers of an internet connected vibrator called the We-Vibe have recently settled a massive $3.75 million dollar lawsuit in the US for breach of privacy over data their app controlled vibrator was sending back to them when in use.

Firstly I would point out that Standard Innovation have reportedly settled the case early to avoid the prolonged litigation and ever spiralling costs that defending such a case entails in the US, so whether they are guilty or not is notwithstanding.

Panic panic it's creepy
Now you will read many option pieces on how creepy this all is and 'why would a company want to monitor my orgasms?', but I think the truth is a little more basic. The data was sent back not because there was some pervert in a back room who got off on how many times you played with a vibrator, but simply because the hardware had the capacity to do so, and someone probably though it was 'a good idea'.

No secret bunker
Now as a company that produces an Electrosex Power Box that can be controlled over the Internet (the 2B) I can categorically state that the 2B has no capacity to talk directly to us or our servers, let alone send any data about its use to our secret underground bunker.

The internet is not private
Connecting anything across the internet is never totally private.

Unless you use high levels of encryption someone has the capability to look at what is going on.

Direct Contact
When using our 2B across the internet we use direct computer to computer communication so the only people who have access to any form of data are you and your play partner, although the servers that make up the internet between the two of you will have access to data, in the same way they have access to your normal browsing (we use the same technology), but I doubt anyone is interested in 'A20' or 'B44' being passed between your computers, and they would also need to know details of the specific IPs of your machines, and what port you are using. If they know that already I would either get your tin hat out as the CIA or GCHQ are watching, or you need to update your web security and start changing your passwords.

Because they could
Now I'm not excusing what Standard Innovation might have done, but I can understand some of the possible reasoning behind the actions, IF they were actually thought about. Too many times we designers do it because we can (and Standard Innovation are using off the shelf chips that have the functionality already built in), and either forget to tell others, or others in the company didn't understand the consequences of such actions and technology - the result is a statement buried in reams of T's and C's and probably converted into legalise, a statement that was clearly not clear enough for the users who brought the case.

Why would you want to?
From a technical perspective how long a device is being used and at what intensity and at what temperature would allow a manufacturer to consider whether the batteries they are using are too big (and thus more expensive) - if the average person only uses something for 20 mins before charging then do you need a device that can last for two hours? Or does it run for 10 mins before cutting out, but only when the temperature is 42C?? (The human body is generally 38.1C).
Both are useful pieces of data from a design perspective and would mean a company could make an improved product - generally this means cheaper to manufacture, but that is something that all manufacturers strive to achieve ( its call reducing costs).

Learning lessons
You could argue that temperature and usage information is 'personal data' even more so when coupled with email addresses and registration on a sex toy driving app and I agree to a certain extent it could be, but we do need to have some level of responsibilities both from a manufacturer keep are users clearly informed, but we also have responsibilities as a user.

When is the last time you read the T's & C's on a product or service? Do you know why a website is asking you for your email address and what they are planning to do with it?

I know as a company we will take on board any lessons that need to be learned, but I do think some commentators need to dial down the scare stories and actually think about what happens when modern technology is applied to sex toys.

Just my personal opinion.

And the answer is no, we are not spying on you.

Website moves and changes

Well it has taken over a week, but both our UK store and our Worldwide web store have now been upgraded and now run under https:// for increased security. We have also moved the worldwide store a little to https://www.e-stimsystems.com rather than the older store.e-stimsystems.com, but if you are still using the old links not to worry as they will redirect automatically.

Mobile Friendly
Both of our stores are now mobile and tablet friendly so it is even easier to order, and we are in the process of reviewing every product and ensuring you have the most up to date images and product data, If there is something you would like us to add about a product, then please drop us a line.

No change to your details
Unlike other websites we have retained all the login details so you will not have to retype all your details when placing an order. We know how annoying it is when you hit a new site and get the message - we have upgraded the store but could not be bothered to migrate your details over - grrrrrr!!!!

Why two?
Why do we have two stores? Well for those of us in Europe we have the fun of VAT to add to prices so rather than confuse our non EU customers, or annoy EU customers who are only told that VAT is added when they checkout, we have two sites. In addition our Worldwide store now runs under EST (New York time) so any special offers we run will end at the correct time for that zone.

New Satin finish electrodes

We have spent time and effort to ensure our range of estim electrodes is just right, but then we still manage to find ways to improve them!!

If you have enjoyed the slightly 'industrial' look of our original brushed finish, then you are going to love the look and feel of our new exclusive luxurious satin finish.

Satin Finish

Unlike cheaper electrodes, our new Satin finish is NOT a coating, as coatings can chip flake and rub off, but an engineered surface finish applied directly to the metal parts of the electrode after they have passed though our CNC machining process.

How do we do it?

Once machined each electrode is inspected and then locked into a sealed protective cabinet and hand blasted by a high speed stream of ultra fine glass beads, giving a, consistent, smooth and clean finish which sparkles in the right light.

The electrode is then cleaned, inspected again, before being assembled, tested, hygiene sealed and packed, ready to be shipped off to its new owner, together with its lifetime guarantee. The end result is a finish that is simply stunning and much more in fitting with the whole look and feel of our electrodes.

We hope you like them

The New ElectroHelix and Series 1 what is the difference ?

Title image - Whats the difference between the E-Stim Systems Series 1 and the new Electro Helix

After around 14 years in production we finally decided it was possibly time to retire our classic E-Stim Systems Series 1. Many thousands of people have started their e-stim journey with a Series 1, including us, but after 14 years it does come to the point where you think you could just tweek the design a little and give whole lot more.

The result of that tweeking is the new ElectroHelix

But what is the difference? Here is a breakdown of the differences between our classic E-Stim Systems Series 1, and our new ElectroHelix.

The Mode lights of the new ElectroHelix

More modes

Technology has moved on in 14 years, so the ElectroHelix has an advanced microprocessor giving more modes (5 against the 3 of a Series 1, together with better display.

Mode selection is now via a push button rather than a rotary knob.

More Power

The ElectroHelix is more powerful than the Series 1. And if you think you want even more, there is even a special hidden ‘intense’ mode (Think of it as a 'Sport' mode). Power is always highly subjective in terms of sensation but the ElectroHelix is more powerful than the Series 1.

It self tests

The ElectroHelix has a built in self test, so it can tell you if there is a fault, and if the battery is too low to operate correctly.

Smaller and Lighter

The ElectroHelix is both smaller and lighter than a Series 1, 160g compared with 250g of the Series 1.

Not everything has been changed

We haven’t changed everything. why should we? If we got it right the first time, then there is not need to change things, so we have still kept a number of features of the Series 1, and improved others.

ElectroHelix Small Level ControlAnalogue output controls

The electroHelix has a smooth analogue output level control, meaning there are no steps between level changes, and the range of the adjustment controls have also been increased with a wider range of adjustment for pulse pulse and feel.

Fire Button

We could not build replacement power box without keeping the original Series 1 Fire Button. So the ElectroHelix also has a fire button.

Standard output sockets

Like the Series 1, the ElectroHelix uses the industry standard 3.5mm jack socket, allowing you to connect any of our electrodes to the ElectroHelix, and quite a few electrodes from other companies.

(TENS and TENS deprived units us a small and less robust TENS tube connector, but if you have one we do offer a range of adaptors).

Standard PP3 Battery

Like the Series 1, the ElectroHelix is power by a standard 9v PP3 battery. No need to wait for a recharge, or try to find the right charge cable and adaptor. It also means that you can replace a flat battery in seconds.

lifetime guarantee

Like all of our Power boxes and Premium Electrodes, the ElectroHelix is covered by our lifetime guarantee. That means if it fails in normal use, all you need to do is get it back to our workshops, and we will repair it for free.

Where to purchase.

We have a number of stockists in the UK and a small number through the rest of the world, but you can purchase any of our products direct from us online and we will ship it as discreetly as we can. We have the ElectroHelix in 3 packs, the Helix pack with the ElectroHelix and sticky pads and cables, The Helix Red pack with pads, cables and a fully insertable electro egg and the Helix Blue with pads, cables and a set of Conductive Rubber Loops.

All of the packs also come with a carry case, battery and instructions.

The ElectroHelix Packs start at £109.

UK store now more secure

With the big changes from Google marking every website that asks for a password as 'not secure', we are now in the process of moving our websites over to https.

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The 'S' at the end of HTTPS standss for 'Secure'. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted.

We have now finished the changes on our UK store, as we have now made sure that everything works correctly under https. You currently can use both, one we are sure everything is working we will switch over to https for everything. If you want it all, you just need to visit https://store.e-stim.co.uk

Previously only our payment system ran under https, but now everything is working under the secure protocol.

Are you sitting comfortably?

Sometimes sitting when using e-stim electrodes can be a little uncomfortable especially if you are using our standard 4mm connectors. We have for quite a while offered a low profile connector which were quite effective but they were a a bit angular, still sat a little too proud, and didn't fit all of our electrodes.

So we got our cable guru to work on some new designs and now we have a smoother moulded low profile plug which now fits every one of our premium electrodes apart from the small magnum.

New 4mm Low Profile Plugs

Available in store now.

You want more Gel??

With the popularity of our E-Stim Systems branded 100ml electro gel, we now offer a larger more 'sexy' looking 250ml pump option.

They are ideal for dungeons and play at home as they offer better value for money, and can give you a dollop of gel from one hand.

Our gel is not as watery as some on the market and it's medically CE marked which means that it is suitable for internal use.

Available in our webstores and from many of our stockists.
